Today’s Decadent Delhi

Today’s Delhi has been likened to the “Eighties Dallas.” Flashy cars, decadent parties, the latest fashion from the world’s runways and wealth dripping from the arms of Delhiites in the form of Birkins.

It wasn’t too long ago that all eyes were on Mumbai. Delhi didn’t rank high in world’s most populous cities; last year it became the planet’s second-largest urban agglomeration, with 22 million people and India’s highest concentration of millionaires.

And today, Delhi is “the land of black money and pink Bentleys.”
