Take a look at 32-year-old Parag Khanna’s track record, and you’ll come away convinced that he’s the man they were thinking of when they came up with the term “Global Indian” — and not only because this Uttar Pradesh-born wunderkind has traveled to nearly 100 countries.

As an internationally renowned scholar, writer, and advisor on issues of global politics, Khanna’s dizzying array of achievements include serving as a Senior Geopolitical Advisor to the United States Special Operations Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, and as an analyst for the Council on Foreign Relations, the World Economic Forum, and the Brookings Institution.  Not to mention, Presidential candidate Barack Obama looked to Khanna for foreign policy advice and input during his campaign.

If that’s not enough, Khanna’s 2008 book The Second World: Empires and Influence in the New Global Order has been a runaway best-seller everywhere, wowing critics and foreign policy buffs with its dazzling insights into the 21st-Century global power balance.

Fareed Zakaria’s a fan, but so are Esquire Magazine — which named Khanna one of its 75 Most Influential People of the 21st Century — and WIRED Magazine, which featured Khanna on its exclusive “Smart List.” As we venture farther into the 21st century, we’d say keep your eye on Parag Khanna, but we think the world’s already watching.
