There’s this rumor going around the fashion world that Indian designers are ready to go international.  Yes, we have some who have already made it and continue to do us proud, but what’s next?

Lakme Fashion week starts tomorrow in Mumbai and we wanted to get to the bottom of this. We flew into Mumbai yesterday in the wee hours of the morning to see what all the buzz is about – and we’ll be bringing you the news from the ramp starting tomorrow.

You can follow us on facebook or twitter where we’ll be paying special attention the Gen Next designers opening the show.

Here’s a look at what’s to come:

Until tomorrow, we leave you with one of the coolest things we’ve seen and heard in a while. Take a look and a listen below and yes, there’s a story coming on the Slumgods and their street art.

And because India is a land of contrasts, we thought we’d present a perspective often left ignored because it’s too painful to discuss. Al Jazeera did a story recently on the inequities that exist in India as the country booms in so many areas.  As we enjoy the beauty of India, we must not blind ourselves to the reality that can begin to blend into the background if we let it.
