Her latest video is no exception. Shot in Morocco and directed by Romain-Gavras, “Bad Girls” gives us M.I.A.’s lady gangsta fantasy – in the Middle East. M.I.A. brings swagger life and some Bhangra beats to a landscape unfamiliar to the West. And somehow she succeeds in making the unknown familiar. This gives joyriding a whole new meaning. Warning, don’t try this at home. Watch the video here.

Deeply researched and brilliantly written, Boo tells an intimate story of real people in dire conditions, and the complex lives they navigate. She gives us a glimpse of a part of the “global economy” often left out of the conversation. Read more here.
