Why we’re fans: A darling of India’s fashion editors, Tarun Tahiliani anointed him a future fashion icon in Vogue India earlier this year. We know why: Amit creates marvelously constructed clothes that never cease to surprise. He worked for Tarun for a number of years, and his drapes reflect the Tahiliani influence. Still, Amit has managed to carve a successful niche for himself, under the label Morphe, designing high impact cocktail dresses. Cecilia Morelli Parekh, director of Le Mill explained it best: “He always has one great
fashion detail, but the body of the dress is classic, which makes his clothes so wearable and creative at the same time.”
What we covet: The Red Bubble Dress.
Where we’d wear it: We wouldn’t. We’d hang it on the wall like the work of art it is.
